Biocentra: Journal of Medical and Health Sciences is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The journal follows the principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and adheres to internationally recognized ethical guidelines to ensure transparency, fairness, accountability, and responsible scholarly publishing.

All parties involved in the publication process—including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to uphold these ethical standards and contribute to maintaining the credibility of the scientific record.

Responsibilities of Authors

• Submit original, unpublished, and scientifically sound manuscripts.
• Ensure that manuscripts are free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and duplicate publication.
• Present research methods and results accurately and transparently.
• Properly acknowledge and cite all relevant sources.
• Obtain ethics committee approval when research involves human participants or animals.
• Disclose conflicts of interest and funding sources.
• Cooperate fully during the editorial, peer-review, and revision processes.

Responsibilities of Editors

• Evaluate manuscripts solely on academic merit, originality, and relevance.
• Maintain confidentiality throughout the editorial process.
• Ensure a fair, objective, and timely double-blind peer-review process.
• Avoid conflicts of interest in editorial decisions.
• Respond appropriately to allegations of research or publication misconduct.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

• Provide objective, constructive, and evidence-based evaluations.
• Maintain confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts.
• Declare any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
• Identify important published work that has not been appropriately cited.
• Report suspected ethical concerns or misconduct to the Editor.

Biocentra has zero tolerance for plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, inappropriate authorship, citation manipulation, image manipulation, or any other form of research and publication misconduct. All allegations will be investigated following internationally accepted ethical procedures, and appropriate editorial actions will be taken where necessary.

Corrections and Retractions

When significant errors or ethical concerns are identified after publication, Biocentra may issue corrections, expressions of concern, or article retractions in order to preserve the integrity, transparency, and reliability of the scientific literature.
